Spending two months in the heart of the Pacific Ocean during winter to document The Ocean Cleanup’s first plastic-collecting system was both a challenging and transformative experience. I worked closely with The Ocean Cleanup's team to capture the raw intensity of their mission: tackling the massive environmental challenge of the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. Witnessing firsthand the scale of the plastic pollution and the ingenuity behind the technology deepened my appreciation for the urgency of this work.
